I'm Amelia! As your therapist, not only will we cover the day to day stressors, we'll often get down to the nitty gritty and explore the root of particular emotions, feelings, and thoughts. In session you'll be provided with a safe and supportive environment where we'll work towards building trust and understanding. I prefer to use a person-centered approach in session, meaning, you're in the driver's seat! I work with a variety of presenting issues, whether it be Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Autism, Bipolar, Borderline Personality, Schizophrenia, Substance Use, and more. I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities in my practice; including but not limited to CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused, Emotionally Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Reality Focused, and more! My goal is to empower clients to gain insight, promote positive change and live more fulfilling lives. Additionally, in sessions you'll be provided with psychoeducation regarding various topics that are applicable to you. I received my associates in Human Services from the College of DuPage, and I received my bachelors and masters in Social Work from Aurora University. Following completion of my degree programs, I have taken many in-depth trainings and certification courses. I am currently certified in the following: Domestic and Sexual Violence, Trauma, Anxiety, Youth Mental Health, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I am hopeful that we'll become a great team and together guide you to become the best version of yourself.
