Getting to know Amelia Lower

In May of 2013, I obtained a Master of Education degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I began my career working in community mental health and later expanded my work to private practice. I have extensive experience working in Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) including Functional Family Therapy, Multisystemic Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Although my work in these EBPs was primarily focused on children and adolescents, I have always worked with adults as well, either as caregivers or seeking support for their individual concerns. I have an eclectic approach therapeutically, incorporating components from EBPs and other modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavior Shaping, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Existential Therapy. I have worked with clients from all walks of life with concerns including: Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder/Complex Trauma, Parenting Challenges, Postpartum Anxiety/Depression, and more.
