What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a firm believer that providing mental health counseling requires a multi-dimensional approach. I consider myself a primarily person-centered practitioner. This approach gives my clients space to access their inner wisdom, as well as the autonomy to guide sessions based on their present needs and lived experiences. When it comes to intervention, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) therapeutic approaches, as well as Mindfulness-Based practices (MBCT). These modalities maintain the warmth of person-centered therapy while exploring the underlying thoughts and emotions that pose challenges to healing.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I support my clients in reaching their goals by establishing a collaborative relationship where we identify what changes are desired and the steps to enact this growth. I'm believer that feedback is an important component of the therapeutic process, so I encourage my clients to tell me if something isn't working. Therapy is as scientific as it is creative, which leaves a lot of room for individual tailoring based on client needs and comfort level. As a person, and as a clinician, my natural communication style is warm, energetic, and responsive. My goal is to cultivate a space safe enough for my clients to feel brave in how they share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences with me.
