Getting to know Amelie Morgan

I work with individuals and couples on issues related to anxiety, communication, sexual functioning, and overall life satisfaction. Sex is a gravity that can attract other relational factors such as a sense of self, upbringing, early adulthood experiences, and your history of relationships. These issues can be a gateway to the deeper infrastructure of the psyche. Anxiety creates a state of dissonance in the body, leading to physical pain, depressive symptoms, and other physiological issues such as sexual dysfunction. I will help you assess patterns and root causes contributing to your anxiety so you can live more peacefully and find balance within your own body. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master’s in Poetry from Southeast Missouri State University, which enrich my approach by blending clinical insight with a deep appreciation for language and expression.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Me: the type of therapist who's going to engage in dialogue with you (no blank staring!) and gently challenge the boundaries of unhelpful beliefs about yourself and the world, while validating the beliefs that will help you bloom into your life. You: self-motivated to be open and patient with this process. We will teach each other about what is happening.
