Whether it's to get to the root of a trauma response, or to stay on the surface layer for a while to deal with concerns happening in the present, together we can find a way to productively address your concerns. Have you been quick-to-anger or overwhelmed lately and want to learn coping skills, but also understand why? Do you have depression or anxiety symptoms that you want help with? You might even be at the point that you're fully aware that your responses and concerns are trauma-based, but don't know what to do with that knowledge. Maybe it's a matter of knowing there is more to life, you just want to find the "more." You don't have to go through your journey alone: together we can explore what's going on. Sometimes people just need someone to talk to and reflect with, which I can certainly offer. For those who want more, I can also offer EMDR, Cognitive reframing/CBT, psychoanalysis, Thought Field Therapy (tapping algorithms), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, among others. But at the base of everything is who you are as a human; most likely you need to be kinder to yourself and see more of the good that is inside of you. I started my career in education and spent time as a high school English teacher and a Special Education teacher. I went on to get my MS in Mental Health Counseling in 2013 from Capella University. I have since worked as a school-based therapist with a community health agency, in a domestic violence Women's shelter, as an intensive in-home therapist for kids ages 4-18, and finally found my way to private practice.
