Getting to know Amina Hosaini

Hi, I am Amina Hosaini, a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My goal is to help my clients reach their full potential and find fulfillment in their lives. I strive to provide a safe space where individuals can begin the personal growth process in an environment that is welcoming, relaxing, and sensitive to cultural and language needs. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Connecticut with a concentration in group work, and I also hold a bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut. I have experience working with diverse populations, including adults, youth, and children. I have worked with high-risk children receiving special education in a clinical day school and with youth ages 3 to 15 of varying academic levels, learning abilities, and behavioral and emotional challenges. My experience spans public school systems, residential settings, clinical day schools, and outpatient clinics. For the past three years, I have been in private practice, primarily supporting adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma. I am trained in specialized de-escalation strategies that ensure the care, welfare, and safety of others. I have worked with adults in the criminal justice system presenting with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders, as well as juvenile delinquent youth, providing individual and family therapy. I am skilled in evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC). Additionally, I am trained in evidence-based group interventions including Trauma Affect Regulation: Guide for Education and Therapy (TARGET) and Aggression Replacement Training (ART). Let's embark on this journey together to elicit change and find fulfillment in life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My client can expect to feel regulated, in control of their lives and reaching for fulfillment in their lives when meeting with me. I create a non-judgmental environment where one can speak about anything on their mind. I help my clients set goals and achieve them.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
