She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2002. As a Licensed Professional Counselor- Supervisor (LPC-S) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), she worked with community agencies and state correctional departments in both Texas and Arizona. She has worked in private practice for 13 years. She works with patients to address various life concerns with a focus on trauma, attachment, PTSD, parenting skills, anxiety, and depression. She became rostered in Child-Parent Psychotherapy in 2016 and provides specialized treatment to young children and their families. She also provides supervision and consultation to clinicians seeking independent licensure as a registered supervisor. Amirah uses an integrative approach to therapy with patients to help them to reflect on their life experiences for emotional awareness and to learn how these emotions shape behavior and communication. Through this process she helps you to gain more insight and practical tools to make life improvements and strengthen interpersonal connections. She commits to maintaining an environment that will progressively create a more open and secure relationship with her patients.

After you request your appointment, you will be sent an invite link for Brightside Health. You will need to enter your insurance and payment information to confirm your appointment.During your initial consultation we will craft a treatment plan personalized to your needs, and schedule follow-up appointments as needed. You will also be able message me directly at anytime via the messaging section of your Brightside Health portal - a tool where will also track your progress, access resources, and see your treatment plan details.
