Holistic Trauma Therapist | EMDR | Faith-Rooted Healing My name is Amy Arruda, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in PTSD, ADHD, depression, and anxiety through a holistic lens. I provide individual therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and life coaching with a focus on lasting lifestyle change rather than a quick-fix pharmaceutical model. My work is deeply rooted in my faith in God and my belief that healing is possible when we address the whole person — mind, body, and spirit. I believe we were designed with the capacity to heal, and when we align our habits, thoughts, nervous system, and spiritual life, transformation becomes not only possible, but sustainable. My Background & Experience I earned my BSW from Southern Connecticut State University in 2007, my MSW from Fordham University in 2013, and my LCSW in 2018. I’ve been in the helping profession in some capacity since high school. I truly believe this calling was placed on my heart at a young age. Much of my clinical experience has been in residential settings with adolescent males, as well as working with children and teenagers with Autism Spectrum Disorder in school settings. I have also worked with adults in outpatient therapy, helping them implement meaningful lifestyle changes that support long-term emotional and mental health. Personally, I am a mother of three energetic boys. Motherhood has strengthened my conviction that self-care is not selfish — it is necessary. Clean eating (“clean vessel equals clear mind”), daily movement, prayer, meditation, breathwork, and cold and heat exposure are practices I live by. I also love to dance and create healthy desserts. I strive to embody the balance I encourage in my clients. What I Offer I provide: Individual therapy (in person and virtual) EMDR therapy for trauma processing Life coaching focused on lifestyle alignment and behavioral change

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach differs from traditional therapy models that rely heavily on medication management without deeper nervous system or lifestyle work. While medication has its place, many of my clients come to me after feeling discouraged by approaches that didn’t create meaningful change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

If you have tried traditional therapy combined with psychiatric medication and still feel stuck, I encourage you to explore EMDR and a more integrative approach. My style is honest, direct, and compassionate. I prioritize truth in sessions over telling clients what they want to hear — because real healing requires clarity and courage.
