Getting to know Amy Bender

Hi! I teach mental health skills that empower people to live the life they envision for themselves. Through behavioral and person-centered approaches, I help clients combat negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, build healthy coping mechanisms, and unlock potential. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Together, we’ll examine how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other so you can replace them with healthier patterns, get unstuck, and build the life you’ve always dreamed about. We'll also work on boundaries, communication, and distress tolerance so you can make the changes in your life that you desire. In a world that pulls our focus in so many directions, we’ll create a space just for you and your north star. We’ll also look at the life you want to live, build skills to reach your goals, and unlock your potential. These tools will help you manage life’s ups and downs and build healthy relationships in all areas of your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I’ll start by getting a holistic picture of who you are and who you want to be. I like to get a sense of what you want your life to look like so we can co-create a vision that we can work towards together. Part of that work will include identifying your strengths and building skills to reach your goals.

Ongoing session: $250 for 50 minutes
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront
