Getting to know Amy Drake

Hi, I'm Amy, I understand reaching out for therapy takes courage and a desire to find inner peace. My approach to therapy is to provide compassion and understanding in a safe space for sharing, processing, and conquering the challenges we face daily. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Texas State University and have worked as a paramedic, crisis interview specialist, grief and bereavement counselor, and with sexual assault and domestic violence survivors. I also have personal and professional experience with autism, ADHD, and sensory processing disorder. Whether you're dealing with feeling overwhelmed, relationship issues, or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow on your journey. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together!

What should a new client know about working with you?

During the initial session, I learn about you. It's a time for you to share what has brought you to therapy and any information you'd like me to know about your past, present or future. We discuss the treatment plan and the goals you have for your journey in therapy. Each time we meet for a session we will discuss where you are in your journey and any changes you'd like to make along the way. Therapy goals can change and shift based on life events and preferences. Sessions will provide interactive feedback, emotional support, time for processing the issues and support for the goals set.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
