Amy Fisher, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NC
I'm Amy Eades Fisher, originally from West Virginia, and am currently an Executive Director of a charitable clinic in NC. I also offer telehealth therapy services via a small private practice for clients in West Virginia and North Carolina. My academic journey began in West Virginia, at Mountain State University where I accomplished my BSW. Post graduation, I had an impactful 4-month mission trip to Thailand working with HIV affected women and children. Returning to America, the experience inspired a longing for more challenges. This quest led me to North Carolina, my home for the past 27 years, where I simultaneously found a loving husband and a rewarding job. I started as a case manager at a domestic violence initiative and started teaching the Abuser Treatment Program. In 2007, I enhanced my field-specific knowledge with an MSW from UNC Chapel Hill, concentrating in Management & Community Practice. I'm a Licensed Social Worker in both NC (LCSW) and WV (LICSW). Across 25 years of healthcare leadership, I've served various senior roles, majorly supervising clinical social work, chaplain, and volunteering at Hospices. Further, I've worked as an outpatient therapist at a medical clinic providing integrated healthcare. I work with victims of sexual assault, child abuse and those facing grief. I've spent a decade teaching online Social Work courses at Our Lady of the Lake University, Texas and now teach at Appalachian State University, NC. Outside work, I enjoy spending time outdoors camping with my family and dogs, kayaking, and watching NASCAR. Advocating against injustice and helping others are close to my heart.
