Getting to know Amy Goldberg

I have more than 25 years of experience treating adults, children, and families in community agencies, schools, homes and group practice. I use a variety of psychological techniques but feel that a client's trust and comfort with a therapist are paramount. I received my BA in psychology from Cornell University and my Master of Social Work from Simmons College. I speak fluent Spanish and basic French. Lastly, I have two kitties who sometimes join our sessions! Read less

What should a new client know about working with you?

I feel that therapy has to be a safe, comforting space. I keep up with my education as a therapist by going to conferences or reading on my own. I enjoy learning about ADHD, adoption, eating disorders, women's issues, and social justice issues. I collaborate with other providers whenever possible to improve my own knowledge and help my clients.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

You are the one in charge of your session. I'm only here as a sounding board or to give advice if you want it. We explore your goals, unhealthy habits or patterns, family dynamics, possible trauma history and biological, environmental or societal influences, Then we work on a healthier way to be.

lucky to have Amy!
Amy is thoughtful, kind, and makes you feel heard and comfortable . Her willingness to suggest different approaches and support you as you find the methods that work for you allows you to customize your approach to your mental health.
I'm very blessed to have found Amy. She's among the top therapists I've ever had (and I've had plenty). She's offered helpful insight and caring understanding at times when I've needed it most.
I have been working with Amy for quite a long time, and I cannot adequately express how much she’s helped me. I’ve seen many therapists over the years and she is the only one that I’ve connected to, that I trust, that’s guided and worked with me to make significant progress and improvements in my mental health. She’s super smart, insightful, compassionate and has a great sense of humor. I honestly don’t know where I’d be without her.
Amy has been great for the year I've been with her as a patient. My first few attempts to find a therapist were frustrating, so I'm very grateful to have her in my life. I can't properly describe the changes I've been able to make (and continue to make) in the last year, in large part to get guidance and ability to listen without judgement. Thank you, Amy.
Amy is great! I have been seeing her for years and she has helped me tremendously in many ways. Amy is very accommodating, professional and kind. I would highly recommend her.
????? I cannot recommend Amy highly enough. From the moment I started working with her, I felt truly seen and supported. Navigating anxiety, childhood trauma, current medical issues and the complexities of motherhood while managing ADHD can be overwhelming, but Amy provides a safe space for healing. She helped me uncover patterns, process past wounds, and develop practical tools to manage daily challenges with confidence and self-compassion. What sets Amy apart is her empathy and ability to truly listen—every conversation feels meaningful, and I always leave feeling empowered. If you're looking for a therapist who is knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely invested in your growth, look no further. This experience has been transformative, and I am forever grateful!!
