Being a parent of a child with special needs is one of the most challenging lives to live. Through the daily chaos and the appointments, don’t forget you. Your wants, needs, and dreams matter. Together, we will partner to acknowledge the triumphs and process the trials. You will learn how to grieve the life that you thought you would have and move forward to fully living the life that you’ve got. I help my clients with parenting strategies and resources along with daily coping skills. We may identify triggers and process past trauma that impacts you as a parent and work on your anxiety, depression, or other mental health diagnoses. I also see clients regarding life transitions, grief, infertility, general parenting issues, and perinatal concerns such as postpartum depression. I began Shine Counseling Center after my own journey as a counselor and mother of three. I hold a Master of Education in School Counseling from Liberty University and am a National Certified Counselor passionate about providing personalized counseling services in a non-judgmental way. Clients describe me as authentic and compassionate, making counseling fun and interesting. I see individuals, couples, groups, families, and children ages 8 and up. My space is a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can be exactly who you are.
