Getting to know Amy Higdon

As a Licensed Professional Counselor for the past 15 years, with 17 years of overall experience, I've helped clients overcome obstacles and challenges that prevent them from imagining or achieving the life they envision. Life is too short to be unhappy, unsure, or unfulfilled. I am here to help my clients develop a more positive outlook on life, imagine the life they want, and acquire the tools necessary to achieve it. Let me help you learn and develop the skills needed to create the life you desire! I hold a Master's in Clinical Developmental Counseling and an MEd in Agency Counseling from Southern Arkansas University, where I also earned my Bachelor's degree. I have worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient, inpatient, group and private practice, juvenile and adult justice systems, intensive outpatient, and intensive family services, working with clients from childhood through geriatrics. I am a person-centered counselor who uses different approaches tailored to each client's needs, including solution-focused techniques, motivational interviewing, strength-based methods, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Some of the issues I treat include high-functioning autism, ADHD, life transitions, relationship issues, family conflict, mood disorders, anxiety, anger management, women's issues, stress, and behavioral challenges. I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can identify life challenges and obstacles that prevent you from living the life you imagine and deserve. Family and friends are valuable sources of guidance, and if you are looking for additional support on your journey toward personal growth and emotional well-being, know that I am here to assist you. I am committed to helping you develop the strength and tools to achieve the life you envision. Call and schedule an appointment today-I look forward to hearing from you. In-office and teletherapy appointments are available.
