Getting to know Amy Jean Swetnam
Congratulations on taking action for your self-care. I've always known that I wanted to work with people to help navigate the challenges of life, and I have been successfully doing so for over three decades with literally thousands of clients. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 30 years of experience. I earned my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. I enjoy helping others learn to help themselves; there's nothing more empowering. I believe everyone has the right to be treated with dignity, respect, and acceptance, and I strive to interact with others accordingly.
I highly value creating a therapeutic alliance with my clients to develop an effective plan of action and would welcome the opportunity to do so with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?
My job is to put myself out of a job with you. That may sound funny but true. My focus is to help you feel empowered, and we’ll work together to help that come about. We will work together, much as a pilot and copilot to get your goals achieved.
You, your time and money are valuable that’s why we will have a treatment plan that you and I will formulate together and each session will be productive as a result.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
