Amy Jordan, LCSW

Psychotherapist
IL
I help ambitious women manage anxiety and perfectionism so they can thrive without burning out. I will help you sift through all of the noise to determine what actually matters to you, which may involve taking a step back, slowing down, listening to your body, and finding inner peace. I begin every therapeutic relationship by helping you determine your values - the things that are most important to YOU! From there, we will work together to build habits that bring you closer to achieving your very best life. I bring 7 years of experience as a therapist, and have practiced at residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the single most important factor in achieving success in therapy, and I will ensure that you feel supported, and that we are aligned in achieving your goals. Life is challenging, and you shouldn't have to go it alone. I will aid you in navigating barriers to help you build self-awareness and self-compassion. I use a warm, yet direct approach. Together, we will defuse from unhelpful thoughts and behavior patterns, identify your strengths, and increase your sense self-worth for an improved outlook on life.

My passion lies in working with women, particularly those facing the demands of navigating high expectations and perfectionism in a productivity driven world. Through self-compassion and mindful awareness, we will work together to build a life worth living Life is challenging, and you shouldn't have to go it alone. I will aid you in navigating mental, social, and emotional barriers to help you build self-awareness and self-compassion. I use a warm, yet direct approach. Together, we will defuse from unhelpful thoughts and behavior patterns, identify your strengths, and increase your sense self-worth for an improved outlook on life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first appointment will last approximately 90 minutes and is divided into two parts. The first 45 minutes focus on intake, where we will discuss your background, concerns, and what brings you to therapy. This helps us gain a better understanding of your needs and expectations. The second 45 minutes will be dedicated to a values sort exercise. This activity helps identify what matters most to you, providing a foundation for setting meaningful therapy goals. By exploring your values, we can tailor your therapy journey to align with what is truly important to you. Subsequent sessions are 50 minutes and will focus on following up on values and committed actions, creating a roadmap for the session ahead, and working on setting and achieving desired goals. And hey, if you need a session to just VENT, I am game for that, as well. Therapy is not one size fits all, and you will find that your needs may be different week to week. I will support you by accommodating your needs while also keeping you focused to achieve your goals.
