“When looking for a therapist I prioritized someone who would be open-minded and solution oriented, specifically someone that practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well. I have been meeting with Amy over the last month and a half and have greatly enjoyed our sessions. I have been able to gain new insights on situations that I would have never considered and having an outsider/neutral point-of-view on various situations and my feelings has been very helpful. I look forward to more sessions.”

Getting to know Amy Lottes

Hello! I am Amy Lottes, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I hold a Master of Education in Counseling and Development from Winthrop University. I have experience helping clients with depression, stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, relationship issues, family conflicts, and a variety of other concerns. My clients appreciate working with me because our sessions feel like conversations while addressing their issues and working toward their goals. They often say this approach feels less clinical and intimidating, which helps them make progress faster than they initially expected. I view therapy as a collaborative process where the client and therapist work together to set goals, define success, and develop a plan to maintain that success. Our work will focus on achieving a healthier, more balanced lifestyle. I approach therapy from a cognitive-behavioral perspective, addressing and reshaping thoughts and beliefs that interfere with functioning to improve mental health. I also integrate methods from other theoretical approaches as needed and helpful. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps toward change. I am here to support and empower you on that journey!

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our first session, I'll get to know you a little better and find out why you are seeking therapy. After the initial session, we will begin to create goals that will guide our therapy sessions. Along the way, we will change or revise these goals as necessary. We'll identify what is not working in your life and then we can work together to help you make changes. I'm a goal-oriented therapist and my clients like that they are able to see and measure results.

Does not hold back. Authoritative and challenges my mindset on items I’m dead set on.
She checks in on me, challenges me. Patient listener, exercise each week to work on.

She really listens and gives her honest opinion. Gives me manageable sugestions to work my problems out and usually 3 things to work on or accomplish for next time based on what I tell her which really helps a task-oriented person like me!! Plus she is just really, really nice!
