Getting to know Amy McLaughlin

My practice is based on acceptance, empathy, and empowerment through learning about one's innate strengths. Being open, honest, and vulnerable are key to life satisfaction. People need, and have a right, to be truly listened to in a caring, non-judgmental manner.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You are the expert on your life. My role is assisting you in conquering the obstacles blocking your way to fulfillment. It is important to be able to be your authentic self. I have experience assisting people with depression, anxiety, and grief. I also have experience assisting people with borderline personality disorder and developmental and intellectual disabilities.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I want as many people as possible to have access to mental health services; therefore, I offer a sliding scale payment system and offer appointments after 5 pm and on some weekends. I have experience working with many people and in a variety of settings. I understand the concerns when a loved one is hospitalized and have experience in navigating health care. Having worked with hospice patients and their families, I have experience with death, dying, and grief.

Most relevant

I arrived at the location listed and the practitioner was not there I waited and called for 20 min only to get a voicemail. On a closer look at names at the suite she no longer was at the location that was provided. No one from her office called and Zoe doc didn’t have any up to date information. Was a complete waste of time.
