Psychotherapist

Hi there, I'm Amy! Welcome! I'm Amy Mester, LCSW, and I earned my Master's in Social Work from the Silver School of Social Work. You have taken one of the hardest steps: asking for help through counseling. That shows you are already demonstrating your capacity for change. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment where clients can explore obstacles related to anxiety, depression, and self-care. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication and boundaries with themselves and those around them to improve their quality of life. Counseling can foster personal growth in whatever way you seek and help build the life you deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share. My approach I use eclectic therapy-which may sound unusual-but it's a form of psychotherapy that adapts to each person's unique needs, depending on the problem, treatment goals, and motivation. I select methods based on the individual rather than sticking to one approach all the time. My focus I work with adults 18 and older who want to set goals and work to alleviate depression, anxiety, insomnia, relational issues, and manage life changes. My communication style Together, we will work hard to build a trusting relationship and move toward the goals you set for yourself. You can, you are able, and you deserve to feel better. My journey to mental healthcare Becoming a therapist became my goal during my first career teaching history to high school students. I worked hard and creatively to reach them, but they often wanted to talk about significant life issues. I decided that if everyone had access to therapy-because I believe everyone should-it could help resolve problems that interfere with the best quality of life or highest level of functioning. Then, anything is possible.
