Amy Morris, LCSW

Psychotherapist
UT
My name is Amy Morris, and I hold an LCSW licensed in Utah, Idaho, and Florida. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of South Florida. I believe that my own lived experiences have uniquely prepared me to help others. I am passionate about working with survivors of trauma because I believe each of us has the ability to heal and grow from any difficulty life presents. Sometimes, we just need the guidance of a caring and competent therapist to carry us through. We all desire to feel safe, seen, and supported when we are our most vulnerable selves. My approach I provide a person-centered and eclectic approach to therapy. I have training and experience using CBT, DBT, ACT, Trauma-Informed CBT, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and Internal Family Systems therapy. My focus I work with difficulty regulating emotions, depression, anxiety, anger, adjustment disorder, grief, loss, substance abuse, addiction to porn/sex/technology, attachment concerns, relational problems, adoption, and infertility. My communication style I offer an open, nonjudgmental space that invites you to explore your inner world with feelings of safety. My journey to mental healthcare My entire life has prepared me to serve as a guide for others' healing, as I have personally experienced life and sought my own healing work. I have compassion for others' healing journeys and believe that sometimes life cracks us wide open so we can heal deeply and grow from the hardest things we have faced. My goals for you At our first meeting, I inquire about the goals you would like to work toward and check in along the way. My first session with you We will start where you are, and I will listen supportively. You will feel seen, heard, and witnessed.
