Amy earned her Bachelor's degree from Trinity College and obtained a Master's in Social Work from the University of Connecticut. She has worked for Hartford Public Schools for nine years as a School Social Worker and for Hartford Psychological Services, LLC as a Clinician and Clinical Supervisor for seven years. What should a new client know about working with you?

Amy offers a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Amy believes healing happens when clients feel safe enough to be their full selves. Amy’s clients often feel relieved to speak with someone who just gets it. Amy works collaboratively to unpack patterns, build strength and emotional resilience, and reclaim their voice.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Typically, there is an initial intake session in which questions are asked to begin therapy. After the intake, the clinician and client would determine the frequency of virtual online therapy appointments (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) depending on the need and schedule.

When I tell you the first session, she was awesome and I knew she was my therapist no question ask. I will stay with her for as long as I can. She creates a safe, welcoming, supportive, I can go on but she delivers what I needed to open up about my life obstacles. Trust me you will love her and progress is already in work after 2 sessions.

Amy Ramirez LCSW has been exceptional from my very first telephonic encounter with her during my long search for a DBT-trained therapist. Despite her extensive experience, vast training, and notable faculty & leadership positions in her professional field, she remains warm, personable, down-to-earth, hospitable, respectful, pleasant, patient, empathic, culturally-sensitive, and strives to engage both client as well as accompanying family member/s. She is observant, thoughtful, insightful, eloquent, organized, and highly professional. We are grateful to have found such a stellar therapist, and eager to embark on our healing journey with her. Truly lovely human being, a pleasure to interact with, and a gem at her chosen work.
