Hi there, I'm Amy!
Hello, my name is Amy Roth, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health (LPC-MH) in South Dakota and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington. I earned my Master's in Community Mental Health from South Dakota State University. Currently, I am based in South Dakota, where I offer telehealth services to clients aged 15 and older, addressing a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and LGBTQ+ issues.
My approach
My approach to therapy is eclectic; I draw from the areas I have been trained in and use what is needed to fit each person rather than trying to make the person fit into one theory. A few of my main approaches are DBT/CBT, Solution Focused, Choice, Motivational, and Mindfulness. I truly believe in meeting the person where he/she/they are and helping them find their voice to tell the story that needs to be told so movement may be made forward once again.
My focus
My primary focus is on providing individualized therapy for clients aged 15 and older, addressing trauma, attachment issues, mood disorders, adjustment difficulties, LGBTQ+ concerns, anxiety, and depression. I tailor treatment plans to the specific needs and goals of each individual, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches to optimize outcomes.

Each person is unique, so each session will be tailored to your specific needs. We will collaborate to develop treatment plans, set goals, and explore grounding techniques and coping mechanisms that work for you. We'll also discuss your support system and hobbies, as these are crucial elements in building resilience and moving forward. My goal is to support and guide you on your journey toward thriving.
