I know from my own experience that pursuing counseling can feel intimidating. Finding the right counselor can seem formidable, and I want to make that easier by giving you a glimpse of who I am and what my counseling approach looks like. Counseling can be a resource regardless of your life season. You may be in pain; overwhelmed by despair or anger. Perhaps you struggle with unhelpful thought and behavior patterns you can’t break free of, no matter how hard you’ve tried. Maybe those patterns affect your closest relationships, and you’re ready to try something different. My goal is for the therapeutic relationship to offer a sacred space where you feel fully heard, seen, and known. You are the expert on you. I won’t assume I know how you feel or what it’s like to be you. I will listen with curiosity and compassion to understand what you’re going through. I work to create safety so you can be authentic about who you are and your struggles without shame, judgment, or pressure. I want you to bring every part of you to counseling, even the parts you’re frightened or ashamed of. From that foundation of safety and understanding, I can partner with you as you heal and make changes. About me I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. I believe all clients are intrinsically valuable and possess rich internal resources that account for most change in therapy. It would be an honor to walk with you through identifying and using your internal and external resources to bring about the changes you want. Counseling has been a tremendous resource for me as I’ve wrestled with my own woundedness and trauma. I know what it’s like to feel stuck and wonder if things could ever improve.
