Getting to know Ana Dumic

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about helping individuals, children, and families navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and clarity. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I use evidence-based techniques, including CBT, to help clients build coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and create meaningful change in their daily lives. I also have experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum, using tailored, strengths-based strategies to support their unique needs. I believe therapy should feel both supportive and effective, and I work closely with each client to ensure our sessions are personalized and aligned with their goals.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. My style is warm, collaborative, and respectful—I will meet you where you are while also gently encouraging growth and change. I believe therapy works best when there is trust and open communication, so I value honesty and feedback throughout the process. I am both supportive and practical, meaning we will not only talk through challenges but also focus on building skills and strategies you can use in your daily life. When working with children and adolescents, I take a developmentally appropriate approach and often involve caregivers to support consistency and progress outside of sessions. Overall, my goal is to help you feel understood, empowered, and equipped with tools to navigate life more confidently.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach to therapy is collaborative, structured, and tailored to each client’s individual needs. In our first session, I focus on getting to know you—your concerns, history, strengths, and what you hope to gain from therapy. Together, we identify clear and realistic goals. In ongoing sessions, we work on building insight, developing practical coping skills, and addressing patterns that may be contributing to stress or emotional difficulties. I often use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with supportive and strengths-based techniques. Sessions are interactive and paced in a way that feels comfortable for you. For children and adolescents, I incorporate age-appropriate strategies and collaborate with caregivers when appropriate to support progress outside of sessions. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard while also helping you make meaningful, lasting changes in your daily life.
