Psychotherapist
NJ
I'm Ana, a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist passionate about helping adolescents and adults navigate the stress, expectations, and emotional weight of daily life. I offer therapy in both English and Spanish and strive to create a space that feels safe, welcoming, and affirming—especially for those who often carry the emotional load for others. I specialize in supporting first-generation students, BIPOC, and members of marginalized communities– especially Latinx clients and eldest daughters– who are ready to heal generational wounds, set boundaries, and reconnect with their authentic selves to reclaim their own voice and identity.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me is collaborative, warm, and authentic. I strive to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. Therapy with me is relaxed, relationship-focused, and grounded in real conversations- not clinical jargon or judgment. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a partnership. While I bring clinical expertise, I view us as equals working together toward your goals. I'm honest, straightforward, and compassionate. I won't hesitate to gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I also believe humor has a place in healing, and when appropriate, we'll make room for laughter along the way. My goal is to help you build deeper insight, develop meaningful change, and feel supported throughout the process.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is psychodynamic and strengths-based, grounded in unconditional positive regard and cultural humility. I believe in getting to the root of what’s showing up on the surface—exploring past experiences, thought patterns, and emotional responses—while also providing practical tools for navigating the present. I see therapy as a collaborative process, where your experiences are honored, and your growth is supported with warmth, honesty, and curiosity.
