Ana Mateo, LMHC

Psychotherapist
FL
I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and moved to the United States in my mid-teens, carrying with me resilience, cultural richness, and a deep passion for helping others. My greatest inspiration has always been my mother—a strong, independent woman who taught me compassion, courage, and the power of emotional support. Those values led me to become a therapist dedicated to guiding others through life’s most difficult moments. Today, I specialize in supporting adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship stress, and significant life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that every person is capable of healing. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their emotions, process their past, and build the confidence and stability they deserve. Outside of my work, you’ll often find me spending time with my family, enjoying new recipes, walking in my neighborhood, or watching the sunrise—my favorite way to recharge and reset. In our first session together, here's what you can expect During our first session, my priority is to help you feel safe, heard, and supported. We will take time to talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing emotionally, and what goals you hope to work toward. I will ask gentle, guiding questions to better understand your history, your current challenges, and what you need in order to feel relief and stability. This is also your chance to ask me anything about the therapy process so you feel comfortable moving forward. Together, we will begin creating a plan that aligns with your needs—whether you’re coping with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship stress, or major life transitions. You can expect a calm, nonjudgmental environment where you can speak freely at your own pace. By the end of the session, you will have a clearer sense of direction, support, and the next steps we’ll take together in your healing process.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
