Anabel Grant, LMSW

Anabel Grant, LMSW

Psychotherapist
NY
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker with a solid background in clinical practice and a strong interest in helping individuals through emotional, physical, and behavioral concerns. My transition into psychotherapy began when I developed an interest in the craft of storytelling and being with others, which I first did with a journalism major before entering social work. I earned my BSW and MSW with honors from Walden University, and I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Capella University to deepen my understanding of human behavior in both clinical and organizational settings. Throughout my career, I have worked in diverse settings—ranging from medical social work and hospice to child protective services and trauma-informed counseling. This has influenced my therapeutic style: client-centered, empathic, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I have specialty in psychosocial assessment, bereavement work, crisis intervention, and connecting clients with community resources. Whether I am working with families through end-of-life care or walking with individuals through traumatic experiences, I seek to create a safe, affirming space for healing and transformation. I bring bilingual fluency in English and Tagalog, cultural sensitivity, and a strengths-based lens to my practice. I’m proud to be affiliated with professional organizations such as NASW, Phi Alpha Honor Society, and the National Society of Leadership and Success. My goal is to empower clients to reclaim their narratives, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change. Therapy, to me, is not just a profession it's a vocation grounded in empathy, activism, and the belief that every single person needs to be heard, understood, and empowered.
