Psychotherapist
7325 SW 63 Ave, Ste 101, Miami, FL
My name is Anais Torres and I am a first-generation Cuban American originally from New Jersey. I received my Masters in clinical psychology in 2008 as part of a doctoral program. I completed both my practicum training and pre-doctoral internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where I worked on the psychiatric inpatient units and conducted consultation and liaison work with the medical-inpatient population. I was introduced to the realm of eating disorder treatment over 11 years ago through my role as a recovery coach at Oliver-Pyatt Centers (now Monte Nido Miami). Having worked in all levels of care from inpatient through outpatient, I am able to fully assess a client’s appropriateness for each level of care as well as closely monitor their symptomatology and provide clinical recommendations. I founded my private practice in 2018, where I am passionate about treating eating disorders, mood & anxiety disorders, PTSD and suicidality. I currently serve as President for IAEDP’s Miami chapter. My hope and goals include more advocacy, the opportunity to spread more knowledge and awareness, and to connect with fellow providers in our collective mission.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is direct and empathic. Having been a therapist for about 18 years now, I can safely say, "I already know you" (well mostly). You are the person struggling behind closed doors, while trying to show that you are well. You are human and yet struggle to find self-compassion. You are doing all things possible to "keep up". You are looking for assistance in managing your day to day and life overall. I value authenticity from my clients and in return, provide authenticity.
