Anastasia Taylor, LCSW-S

Psychotherapist
TX
Hi! I'm Stas (short for Anastasia, pronounced as if it rhymes: "Stas the Boss"). I am a Texas Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (LCSW-S) with extensive experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity exploration, relationship challenges, and professional burnout. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in both clinical expertise and real-world application. I believe therapy works best when clients feel respected, understood, and empowered. I integrate evidence-based practices with mindfulness-informed and relational approaches, helping clients build insight and develop practical tools they can use in daily life. My work is especially well-suited for individuals who are reflective, motivated, and seeking depth and clarity in their therapeutic process. I value authenticity, emotional safety, and pacing that honors each client’s unique story. Therapy is not about fixing what is “wrong,” but about strengthening what is already present and creating space for meaningful, sustainable change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often describe working with me as grounded, thoughtful, and supportive, while remaining honest and goal-oriented. I strive to create a space where you feel both emotionally safe and gently challenged. Sessions are collaborative rather than prescriptive—you are the expert on your life, and my role is to help you make sense of patterns, clarify values, and move forward with intention. I work exceptionally well with clients who value reflection, curiosity, and insight, and who want therapy to be both emotionally attuned and practical. I am attentive to context, including family systems, culture, identity, and lived experience. Progress in therapy does not require having everything figured out before you start. Whether you arrive feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or simply ready for change, we will move at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of your goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is often the most structured and can feel a bit like a “getting-to-know-you” Q&A. This time is important because it helps me understand your background, what you’ve been through, and the bigger picture of what is impacting you now. While it can feel emotionally heavy or tiring, it lays the groundwork for therapy to be more focused, supportive, and effective moving forward. After the initial visit, sessions become more relational and collaborative. We focus on building rapport, identifying your goals, and working at a pace that feels manageable for you. Therapy may include reflection, skill-building, exploring patterns, and processing emotions as they come up, always with room to adjust based on what feels most helpful. My approach is flexible rather than rigid. Some clients appreciate clear goals and structure, while others need space to process and integrate experiences over time. Throughout our work together, I prioritize transparency, collaboration, and respect for your autonomy, with the goal of helping you feel more grounded, empowered, and supported in your life.
