Reaching out for support is a huge step?congratulations on taking it! Working in a helping profession has always been a dream of mine. It is incredibly rewarding to help others help themselves. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston, Clear Lake. I have practiced as a Licensed Professional Counselor for three years. My experience includes individual and group therapy, family therapy, and substance abuse/addiction recovery. Additionally, I bring seventeen years of experience in social services, working with children and families. I have worked with individuals from many different walks of life, and these experiences have inspired me to better understand the world we live in. I find that an integrative approach to therapy is most helpful in meeting the specific and unique needs of each individual. With this approach, I draw elements from different therapies, including person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic. As a Licensed Professional Counselor committed to the therapeutic process, I believe a positive and supportive therapeutic environment is essential. In this space, an individual is free to express, explore, and begin to understand themselves, moving toward becoming their best self. Learning to trust and honor one's efforts to bring about healing and personal growth is an empowering experience. If you are new to therapy or would like to return, you will not have to do it alone.
