Getting to know Andrea Puech

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master's in Counselor Education from Florida International University, bringing extensive experience and training in counseling individuals and groups from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, including adolescents, adults, and the geriatric population. I bring to psychotherapy sessions an international and varied background particularly suited to serve Florida's vibrant and diverse community. I am trilingual, fluent in English, Spanish, and French, and have lived in five countries and several cities across the United States, Europe, and South America. I work with a wide array of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress-related problems, grief and loss, cross-cultural issues, substance abuse, anger management, domestic violence, parenting, family and couples' relationships, life transitions, and simply helping people overcome their problems to live richer and more gratifying lives. As a psychotherapist, I strive to blend traditional ?talk therapy? with more experiential methods. My integrative approach draws on the latest research in psychology and neuroscience to understand how individuals' minds and bodies become ?stuck? when problems arise and how they can become ?unstuck,? find emotional regulation, explore new behaviors and habits, and create a more vital, meaningful life. I provide psychotherapy from a strengths-based perspective using a variety of evidence-based treatment practices such as trauma-informed therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Relational Life Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, and a psychodynamic approach. Additionally, I have been trained in administering a variety of assessments, including Mental Health Evaluations, Domestic Violence, Parenting, Anger Management, Trauma, and Substance Abuse.
