ME
We all go through times in our lives that bring us down or cause us to feel more anxious. There are many ways to help ourselves feel better, and therapy is one of them. Together, we can use a variety of techniques to meet your goals, including exploring the origin of distressing thoughts and feelings, viewing situations from different perspectives, and problem-solving. Therapy is conducted in a confidential, safe, and non-judgmental environment. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Rhode Island College and a Bachelor's degree from Salve Regina University, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you effectively on your journey to wellness.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have spent over 5 years providing outpatient psychotherapy and 4 years working with individuals in kidney failure. I have a particular interest in working with individuals who are adjusting to their medical diagnoses in addition to individuals who have experienced trauma. I’m trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and skills of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Prior to beginning therapy, it is important for us to meet for a free 15 minute phone consultation to ensure that we would be a good fit for each other. The first session will include discussing background details to why you are seeking therapy. This will be followed up with developing a treatment plan so we can stay focused on the specific areas in which you would like to focus while in therapy.
