Getting to know Andrea Virdo
Hello,
My name is Andrea Virdo, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Qualified Supervisor for MHC, holding a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. In addition to my clinical credentials, I am certified as a Life Coach, Entrepreneur and Business Life Coach, Health and Wellness Life Coach, and a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist Coach Practitioner.
Throughout my professional journey, I have had the privilege of working in a variety of clinical settings, including a hospital psychiatric unit, as well as both for-profit and non-profit organizations. These experiences have allowed me to work with diverse populations and address a wide range of mental health concerns. My areas of expertise include Anxiety and Depressive Disorders, Addictions, and other complex psychological conditions. I have pursued extensive training and relevant certifications to continuously strengthen my clinical effectiveness.
My therapeutic approach is holistic and integrative, meaning that I do not focus solely on symptoms, but on the whole person and their life experience. Therapy is a collaborative process in which we explore the past to understand patterns and emotional roots, address the present to develop awareness and effective coping strategies, and define clear goals for the future that align with the client’s values and desired quality of life.
I adhere strictly to state regulations and ethical standards, and I am proud to offer services fluently in both English and Spanish.
Best regards,
Andrea Virdo, LMHC

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Andrea has the ability to dissect your issues and explain how each component works, alone and in interaction between each others. This makes it easier to understand how to identify my triggers and helps me to compartmentalize my feelings and deal with them one at time avoiding the feeling of being overwhelmed. She helped me to understand how emotions have an immediately impact to my physical and mental health and how important is to have controle of these feelings to avoid escalation and confrontation due to anxiety and stress.
She is extremely relatable, which makes it easier to open up about my issues and concerns.
She validates my feelings and concerns but always makes sure to show me a different perspective to my issues which helps me to understand that emotions always play a big part on how you react to a situation. By extracting myself from that moment I was able to get into a calmer state of mind and was able to see things from the other side of the table and some how to understand there are other ways to tackle problems without huge confrontations that leads to bigger problems that at the end only comes back to harm you no matter what.
I am learning on how to not react when I’m out of emotional balance and wait until my head is in the right space. Also to organize my thoughts, assess all outcomes and be ready to address all issues in a civilized manner once the situation cools down and parties are willing to hear each other than is time to try and reason. And above all, to not engage with people that are riding their emotions high, because we can feed on negativity and anger and most likely it will never get to the best outcome possible.
Andrea is the best therapist I have ever had in my entire life.
She is humane, a kind soul, an animal lover, and a friend to me.
She helped me through lots and lots of issues from my PTSD from childhood through my PTSD from my Divorce, family problems, family relationships and accepting that not always things are fixable ( if the other person is not willing to work things out and accept their share of failures and flows. Which is hard but not impossible.
She also made me aware of all the patterns in a family dynamics and that some times you either accept and learn to respect and understand the other persons but sometimes, people are just not compatible and that we should understand and accept and be okay with the fact that not everyone will like you or have the same understandings you do and that is is 100% okay to disagree.
And that sometimes people are really not meant to be involved on a deeper level in your life.
I can truly say that Andrea Virdo saved me from myself.
I still have a long way ahead of me but I can say that I have seen a huge improvement on my actions as I also here from close friends on how impressed they are to see my improvements in dealing with situations where in the past, I had completely lost it.
Thank you Andrea for making me a better human being.

Since I was only able to list two qualities in the previous question, I want to also include that Andrea is the best therapist I have ever had. In addition to being solution oriented and authentic, she is open minded, easy to talk to, holistic, intelligent, warm and humorous. Sessions feel like a dialogue and conversation and I feel seen and heard. She also provides practical exercises that are helpful.

Andrea entered my life as my therapist at a point where I truly needed her. I am so grateful that our journeys crossed paths. I selected her as my therapist after reading her bio because I felt like we would be a great match. She was exactly the person I was looking for. I am so grateful for her authenticity, her empowerment, her guidance, and overall extremely professional experience and approach. I have certainly grown and developed in the past 5 weeks. I have become stronger, began regaining my self confidence, and sticking to my boundaries. She is excellent when being there for me to talk about different areas of my life. Thank you Andrea -Diana Esparragoza
