I also have experience with the LGBTQ population. I have over ten years of experience in Integrated Mental Health with Methadone and Suboxone. I am sensitive to the needs of many and believe my experience warrants accolades in my field. Prior to social work, I was a K-8 teacher in any area of study and taught high school English for grades 9-12. I spent five years in education before realizing my passion was in the "helping world." My backgrounds in social work and education make me a valuable therapist and an enlightened teacher. I am a lover of animals and have two golden retrievers and two Siamese cats. I have two adult children: a daughter who is a high school English teacher at an all-boys residential home and school, and a son whose passion is music and guitar. My son is on the autism spectrum, which has made me extremely sensitive and dedicated to the rights and privileges of all people, especially those with disabilities. I am familiar with ABA and other treatment modes for the autism population. I enjoy healthy walks with my husband, the ocean and mountains, cooking, and interior design. I am also a stepmother to two adult children and have extensive experience working with people going through divorce. I hope this blurb helps you get to know me better.
