Getting to know Andrew Austin
Andrew is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. He is person-centered and strives to provide an accepting and inviting environment for individuals to grow and build on their existing strengths. He believes that each person is an expert of their own life and that by identifying their own abilities, people can enact powerful change. With a background in education and a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from St. Bonaventure University, he is driven to walk through difficulties with empathy and understanding to process today's challenges and yesterday's traumas.
Andrew's areas of interest include supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, and grief. He has experience working with children, teenagers, and adults in educational settings. While working with Andrew, you can expect compassion, active listening, and transparency. He utilizes mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, existential therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy.
