Psychotherapist
HI
I’m glad you’re taking steps to make things better. I understand that life can feel overwhelming at times, especially when you’re trying to understand things alone. Depression and anxiety can be very serious. You don’t have to feel bad—I have helped thousands of people just like you. My approach Depending on your needs, we can focus on different areas: Narrative/dynamic therapy (which goes by a few names) explores the themes of your life, how they shaped you, and what you want to change. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy addresses specific problems like depression, anxiety, social discomfort, self-confidence, and more. Goal attainment: I believe one of the chief benefits of therapy is working toward your life goals. There is a lot of science about how best to do that. Positive psychology focuses on keeping you healthy and happy long-term, including mindfulness and self-care. All of these are evidence-based practices, meaning they are widely researched and found to be highly effective. They are the best approaches I have found in my 30+ years as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). My focus I specialize in a wide range of areas, including anxiety, stress, depression, trauma recovery, and phase-of-life transitions. If I believe another therapist would better serve your needs, we’ll discuss that and find the best person for you. Areas I do not focus on (and where other therapists might be a better match) include couples therapy, child therapy, and forensic/legal diagnostic work. My communication style My goal is to provide a safe space for you to delve into the issues that matter most and to support every step of your journey. You’ll find that I approach our conversations with empathy, compassion, and deep respect. I’m very professional but enjoy a laid-back style. Education I hold a Master’s in Counseling from Amberton University, which has provided a strong foundation for my clinical work and ongoing commitment to effective, compassionate care.
