Hello! My name is Andrew Charney, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I am also certified in Family Therapy, Level 1 Rational Living Therapy (Reality), and Gambling Addiction. I incorporate cognitive behavioral interventions, mindfulness with DBT, and motivational interviewing into my practice.
With 7 years of experience, I work with children, adolescents, and adults, providing individual, couples, and family therapy, as well as addiction and group counseling.
I emphasize holistic wellness to connect the body, mind, and spirit, helping clients achieve their optimal physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
My approach is person-centered, valuing genuineness, empathy, and warmth. My primary goal is to create a safe, therapeutic space for each client.
When working with families and couples, I use a systemic focus with the structural family therapy (SFT) model to establish and manage boundaries, assess relational patterns, and highlight the importance of connection among family members.
For self-care, I enjoy running, weightlifting, exploring new restaurants, hiking outdoors, spending time with my family, and relaxing with my two dogs.
