What should a new client know about working with you?

I specialize in men's mental health, and in particular same-sex attracted men (gay, bi, pan, etc.). I work both with individuals and with couples. I take a nonjudgmental stance to each client and work with clients with a wide range of viewpoints and perspectives, understanding that clients are the experts on their own lives. My approach is eclectic and tailored to each client, but Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and solutions-focused therapy form the foundation for my work. I view the therapy process as a collaboration between myself and the client.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Sessions are currently offered online only, last 45 minutes, and are primarily client-directed. Clients will indicate what their primary goal (or goals) for therapy is, and sessions will be tailored to reach this goal. However, if other issues arise over the course of therapy that clients are interested in exploring, there will always be an opportunity to do. Sessions will be conversational in nature, though the majority of session time will be devoted to what clients want to say.
