“I have always been reluctant to try therapy, but even just an hour long session was so so helpful and cathartic. Keeping a bunch of negative thoughts bottled up isn’t healthy for anyone. Andrew was so great and made some helpful yet very manageable suggestions as to what I can do “homework wise” to make some necessary adjustments to my life. I highly recommend him to anyone even considering therapy. Session #2 is already scheduled in the books! ”

Getting to know Andrew Marlow

Hi there, I'm andrew! I have been working with youth of all ages and in a number of settings and roles for the last 25 years. I truly appreciate coming alongside to witness when everything comes together and their goals are met. I never take for granted the trust that my clients have put in me as they go through their therapeutic journey. My approach I believe in a strength-based person-centered approach. Using those as my core, I bring in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), where I help clients identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them. In addition to working with thought replacement, I utilize helpful tools that will help cope with the moment. I bring in mindfulness and relaxation techniques as well. I tailor to the individual needs as treatment progresses. It is not a one-size-fits-all. My focus Are things getting harder, and life becoming more difficult? It may show up in school, at home, sports, or socially with your friends. I work with young adults who are seeking to get back to living the life they desire. Whether it is due to anxiety, anger, self-doubt, or any other reason, I will empower your belief that you can achieve the goals you set for yourself. My communication style I prioritize a non-judgmental, reflective listening approach to help one identify what their goals are. As the goals become clear and plan is in place will give you an opportunity to reflect on your experience. With an empathetic ear, clear communication,, and a calm demeaner, we can work through anything that may get in the way of you achieving your goals. My journey to mental healthcare I started my journey back when I was in my teens, when I worked at a summer camp. I was drawn to helping those who struggled, and found that I had a gift to relate to and help those kids. The desire to be as helpful as possible led me to a journey where I am continually growing in my ability to provide a safe, supportive, and helpful therapeutic journey.
