Getting to know Angela Blocker

Are you feeling lost or alone? Do you feel unseen or unheard? Do you feel you have no place to talk about how you truly feel? As a marriage and family therapist specializing in anxiety, depression, and adult family relationships, I am passionate about helping individuals and families navigate their most challenging times. With over 10 years of experience in the field and a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Wheaton College, I create a safe and supportive environment for you to share your deepest concerns and take meaningful steps forward. Anxiety and depression can be debilitating and take a significant toll on your mental and emotional well-being. Together, we work to equip you with effective coping mechanisms and skills to manage your symptoms. In addition to anxiety and depression, I specialize in adult family relationships. Family dynamics can be complex and challenging, especially as individuals navigate adulthood. You can develop a deeper understanding of familial patterns and behaviors and ultimately foster stronger, healthier relationships. I am committed to empowering you to lead a fulfilling, meaningful life. I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, supported, and understood, and together we find the tools and resources to make that a reality.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In the first session, we establish a solid relationship space from which you can safely grow. We address any challenges or reservations about the therapy process and then set goals for a successful outcome. We use subsequent sessions to move toward those goals while identifying obstacles and galvanizing strengths to overcome them. Whether seeking support from yourself or your family, we identify underlying causes of distress and develop new coping strategies to help you navigate the challenges of life with confidence and resilience.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
