Getting to know Angela Douglass

I approach therapy as a space where people of all ages can feel safe, supported, and understood as they navigate life’s challenges. I work with individuals, couples, and families from childhood through adulthood, and have experience supporting children and families in a variety of settings. Much of my professional work has focused on helping kids process trauma, build emotional resilience, and develop healthy ways to understand and express their experiences.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I utilize a blend of therapeutic modalities to meet each client’s individual needs, including Cognitive Behavioral, Narrative, Family Systems, and Psychodynamic approaches. Above all, I take a person-centered, trauma-informed approach with each client and strive to highlight what each individual uniquely brings into therapy. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, flexible, and tailored to the person sitting in the room. For clients who are open to Christian Counseling, I also find it can be meaningful to explore faith as part of the healing and growth process. Faith-integrated therapy is always client-led and offered as an option, honoring each person’s beliefs, values, and readiness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first several sessions will work on learning your story and creating a treatment plan that best suits your needs. From there, we will work together in session to achieve your goals.

We are currently able to bill Blue Cross Blue Shield, Priority Health, Aetna, and United Healthcare. We are not able to bill for medicaid/medicare plans at this time. If you are out-of-network we can provide you with a "superbill" to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
