I earned my Master's in Counseling from Golden Gate University. I utilize a client-centered focus, incorporating empathy to help you reach your goals. I am here to assist people needing to make changes in their lives. I have been a Marriage and Family Therapist for 3 years after a 30-year career in public education in the Bay Area. **My approach** I have experience using Expressive Arts, Animal Assisted Play Therapy, CBT, DBT, Solution Focused, Internal Family Systems, and Psychodynamic therapy. **My focus** I serve California's diverse population, including the LGBTQ community. I am here to help those facing life's transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, parenting challenges, eating disorders, life after retirement, and serious medical diagnoses. **My communication style** I am a very relaxed, down-to-earth therapist who will help you see multiple perspectives and explore different approaches to handling challenges. **My journey to mental healthcare** I spent almost 30 years working in public education, serving kids, families, and staff while building community partnerships to create better schools. While retired, I became a volunteer fire chief in the Tahoe Forest. In each of these roles, I have served others by identifying ways to help community members thrive, whether around academic or medical goals. As a Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice, I serve all ages. I also continue to work in a Medical Residential Facility supporting teens and young adults with eating disorders and multiple diagnoses. I am experienced in working with the LGBTQ population and underrepresented sectors of our society, recognizing the increased daily trauma these communities often face.
