What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me means entering a supportive, nonjudgmental space where your experiences, strengths, and goals guide the therapy process. I take a person-centered and collaborative approach, which means I see you as the expert on your own life while I provide guidance, tools, and support to help you move toward meaningful change. New clients can expect sessions that are warm, respectful, culturally responsive, and tailored to their individual needs. I often incorporate evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy to help clients better understand patterns, manage emotions, build coping skills, and increase confidence. My goal is to help you feel heard, valued, and empowered while we work together on challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship concerns, substance use, life transitions, social skills, and time management. Therapy is a collaborative journey, and we will move at a pace that feels safe, practical, and supportive for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process begins with getting to know you, your story, and what brings you to therapy. In the first session, we will talk about your current concerns, personal history, strengths, goals, and what you hope to gain from counseling. This helps me understand your needs and create a therapy plan that feels practical, supportive, and personalized. Ongoing sessions are collaborative and client-centered. We may explore patterns in thoughts, emotions, relationships, behaviors, and coping strategies while identifying what is working and what may need to change. Depending on your goals, I may incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, emotional regulation skills, stress management, social skills, or practical tools for daily life. I believe therapy should move at a pace that feels safe and respectful. My role is to provide a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, build insight, strengthen resilience, and develop skills that support lasting growth and emotional well-being.
