“I’ve been working with Angela for nearly two years, and I can honestly say it’s been a transformative experience. I initially started with her in a couples therapy group alongside other couples, which was incredibly successful and impactful. After that, I continued working with her individually. What I appreciate most is her honesty—she doesn’t sugarcoat anything, and that’s exactly what I needed. She meets you with the facts while also providing practical tools to help you process, grow, and ultimately find mental peace. Her approach is direct, supportive, and empowering, and it has made a meaningful difference in my life.”

Getting to know Angela McCree

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Practitioner, and the owner and Clinical Director of AAspiring Wellness. I specialize in trauma-informed care for individuals, couples, and families navigating PTSD, attachment wounds, anxiety, depression, grief, work-related stress, and life transitions. My approach integrates evidence-based and somatic modalities—including Polyvagal Theory, CBT, ACT, IFS, and emotionally focused interventions—to help clients move from survival mode into sustainable regulation, clarity, and growth. I work with professionals, BIPOC communities, educators, first responders, and military personnel who are ready to do meaningful inner work and reclaim agency in their lives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me is collaborative, structured, and grounded in respect for your lived experience. This is not surface-level therapy. We focus on understanding how your nervous system, beliefs, and past experiences shape your current patterns—and then we build practical strategies to create change. I am direct, compassionate, and intentional. You will be supported, but you will also be challenged to grow. Sessions are paced to your capacity, with an emphasis on safety, emotional regulation, and long-term outcomes—not quick fixes.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We start with a comprehensive intake to clarify your concerns, goals, and relevant history. Early sessions focus on stabilization, psychoeducation, and building a shared understanding of your emotional and nervous system patterns. From there, treatment is tailored to your needs, using evidence-based and somatic interventions to address root causes—not just symptoms. Progress is reviewed regularly, goals are adjusted as needed, and therapy remains outcome-oriented while honoring your pace. The objective is measurable growth, increased self-awareness, and tools you can use beyond the therapy room.
