Angela (she/her) is a LLMHC working under the supervision of Justine Brathwaite, LMHC. She holds a dual academic background with a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University and a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago. Angela has worked across diverse settings such as private practices, treatment centers, hospitals, and communities, providing trilingual (English, Mandarin, and Cantonese) services to diverse client populations. Throughout her own journey, Angela has learned the difficulties of identifying as a ‘third’ culture and the way each culture holds its nuances. Angela believes that the mind and body holds an incredible capacity for self-healing. At times, we may need more support to reconnect with our inner strengths and move through life's experiences with greater clarity and compassion. Her therapeutic approach focuses on creating a warm, safe, and supportive environment where healing can unfold naturally. Angela’s approach integrates Psychodynamic, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness and trauma-focused therapy with a person-centered and strengths-based framework. Through a collaborative relationship, Angela helps clients explore the roots of troubles, connect to the most authentic self, rediscover resiliency and identify values close to our hearts.
