Psychotherapist
NY
While you are uniquely special, your struggles are more common than you think. We all have challenges, often in very universal ways. It's all part of the human experience. Psychotherapy is a great way to help guide you through life's trials and tribulations. I believe in the power of processing feelings and experiences as a way of helping us make sense of them. It can be profoundly healing to have a safe space in which to be affirmed and productively challenged. Together, we can explore issues related to ambivalence, shame, resilience, boundaries, connection, confidence, and self-development to help you fully show up in your life. I have worked with individuals experiencing depression, unhealthy relationship dynamics, life transitions, substance abuse, and trauma, as well as with the LGBTQ community. I base my practice on empathy and empowerment, utilizing a variety of evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy. My style is warm and down-to-earth, while also naming things to illuminate insight and draw meaning. The key will be for me to support you in your own self-determination. I hold a Master's in Social Work and a Bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Wherever you are today on your life's path, I want to help promote positive change and growth. Let's take this journey together and explore the things that define what it means to be human.
