My name is Angela Thornell, a Licensed Professional Counselor authorized to treat clients in both Texas and Georgia. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Saint Francis, Fort Wayne, and a Bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University. I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years, specializing in helping adults who experience issues with substance use alongside common co-occurring mental health challenges. More specifically, I help clients understand the role drugs and alcohol have played in their lives so they can develop healthier coping strategies for issues such as depression, anxiety, and trauma. These often lead to low self-worth, lack of motivation, sleeplessness, overthinking, and low self-esteem.
Together, we will work to quiet your inner critic, reduce shame, and heal your pain. My goal is to assist you in fulfilling your fullest potential by healing trauma and overcoming life's obstacles. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, without stigmatizing labels. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
