Getting to know Angelana Kreeger

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been in the community mental health field for over 25 years. I have spent my professional career focused on trauma with children, adolescents, adults, and families in various areas of life including hospice, grief/loss, child abuse/neglect, substance abuse, parental alienation/termination of parental rights/family reintegration, juvenile justice, and sexual trauma. One of the things that I enjoy most about my work is being witness to my clients learning how to undo years of negative experiences and finding their hopeful path forward. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Wichita State University. I then completed my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Saint Mary College. Over the years, I have worked in several different areas including child abuse/neglect programs, hospice/bereavement, juvenile offender programs, substance use treatment services, and private practice for mental health and trauma. My therapeutic philosophy has expanded over the years to include concepts from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Substance Abuse treatment, Trauma Play, Mindfulness, Meditation, and several concepts specific to addressing trauma experiences across the lifespan. Most people benefit from reducing feelings of anxiety and depression, understanding forgiveness, and identifying ways to effectively problem-solve different aspects of their lives. I can teach you skills to meet your personal needs related to more effective emotion regulation.
