Getting to know Angelica McQuade

When you’re ready for change, you don’t have to take the next steps alone. I provide compassionate, collaborative therapy to help individuals better understand themselves, navigate life’s challenges, and move toward a more grounded and fulfilling life. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I work with clients to explore the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be holding them back, while building on their existing strengths. My approach is supportive, thoughtful, and goal-oriented, helping clients feel empowered as they work toward meaningful and lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is a collaborative and supportive process. I strive to create a space where you feel truly heard, understood, and respected. While sessions are compassionate and nonjudgmental, I also gently encourage growth and self-reflection at a pace that feels right for you. I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based techniques to help clients manage anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Together, we’ll develop practical strategies that align with your values and goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our initial sessions, we’ll focus on getting to know you—your concerns, history, strengths, and what you hope to gain from therapy. We’ll spend time clarifying what’s been feeling most challenging and identifying what support would feel most helpful to you right now. Sessions often involve exploring thought patterns, emotional responses, and behaviors, while learning tools to improve coping, communication, and emotional regulation. Over time, therapy becomes a space for insight, skill-building, and meaningful progress toward the changes you want to see in your life.
