“The authenticity to speak the truth but without callousness, a sensitivity that attunes without feeling limiting or smothering, and a lived experience that grants a connective humility rather than a looking down on. These are some of the characteristics of Angelina that just feel different than what we’ve had to settle for in life, and that help get through the hard parts of therapy a little easier and at a comfortable pace. She’s just a really cool person! ”

Getting to know Angelina Rubino

The provider is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor and is currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Their current employer is One Life Counseling. Angelina (she/her) is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor who works with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, and identity-related concerns. She is especially drawn to working with individuals who learned to rely on self-criticism or perfectionism early on and are now exploring identity, self-expression, and a more authentic relationship with themselves after growing up in less validating environments and internalized messages of not belonging. Her work is trauma-informed and integrative, with a strong focus on reparenting, inner child healing, and parts-based exploration. Angelina values curiosity, emotional safety, and meeting clients where they are. She is LGBTQIA+ affirming and enjoys working with young adults, creatives, and those seeking deeper self-understanding and emotional balance.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is reflective, supportive, and gently challenging. I often work with clients who struggle with self-criticism, perfectionistic tendencies, and emotional patterns rooted in early relational experiences. Together, we work toward understanding different parts of you — including those that learned to protect, control, or minimize emotions — while building compassion, flexibility, and emotional regulation. You don’t need to come in with clear answers; curiosity and openness are enough to begin.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Early sessions focus on understanding your history, current stressors, and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy. We move at a pace that feels respectful of your nervous system and emotional capacity. Ongoing work may include insight-oriented exploration, parts-based reflection, and skill-building as needed. My approach is collaborative and adaptable, and I welcome ongoing feedback to ensure therapy feels supportive, meaningful, and aligned with your goals.

Angelina is the best counselor I’ve ever had! It was only for a short time but she helped me tremendously!
Angelina has been such a great supportive therapist for my child and I recommend her highly!

Angelina provided excellent mental health care for me and helped me in areas where I was struggling to make progress with previous providers. Our communication about scheduling has been fast and accommodating. Most importantly, I trust her and would recommend her to anyone I know who is in need of mental health services.
Angelina (Miss Angie) has always been the most attentive, straight up, and thoughtful therapist throughout the sessions I’ve had with her. She listens fully without judgement and always asks the right questions. Miss Angie constantly strives to create a very safe place for discussion and growth. She truly cares about her clients and the work she does and it shows in every interaction.
Angelina is a compassionate and attentive therapist who truly prioritizes her clients’ needs. She creates a warm, supportive space where people feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful change. I would confidently recommend Angelina to anyone seeking thoughtful and effective therapy.
I appreciate her professionalism and her ability to remember what we have previously mentioned. She remembers what I do and don’t want in a therapist and is able to provide what I am looking for. I appreciate her punctuality and understanding in sessions. She is a very empathetic therapist while also able to offer advice and solutions to my problems. I am a very literal and problem solution based person so I appreciate her ability to offer that. I also feel she has great communication and is able to follow what I’m saying (and I bounce around a lot)!
